Letter to the Editor: Future bright for Alzheimer’s research, cure

As a volunteer advocate for the Alzheimer’s Association’s sister organization, the Alzheimer’s Impact Movement (AIM), I know we want assurance that the money for Alzheimer’s research is being spent wisely.

While scientific research does point to a healthy diet and daily exercise as ways to reduce our risk of Alzheimer’s, we hear and read reports of possible treatment breakthroughs, giving us hope that the end of this devastating disease is near. Publications and internet messages with claims of reversing memory loss and an Alzheimer’s pill have yet to be scientifically proven.
